Most of you will have seen this other places, but perhaps not all. My great love died last week. I found him on the floor of the sunroom. Still waiting final confirmation from the coroner, but it appears to be a neck injury from a fall.

I loved him deeply, and I am having problems even imagining life without him.

I'll post more information about the service and my plans going forward as I know them.

I've mostly stopped blogging anywhere. I post an occasional status on Facebook, or an even less occasional tweet, but I've simply been too busy to blog or journal anywhere. I do still read journals of my friends, so I've maintained my accounts both here and at LJ.

As an update, other than dealing with family members with health issues, life is good.

I've decided, based on a variety of reasons, to post my journal entries on Dreamwidth.org instead of Live Journal. Mostly, I hate the LJ advertising model, and idea of using my links to gather money for themselves via affiliate programs. I will probably import all my LJ entries at some, although I'm too busy to do right now.

Still active on Facebook, because the entire family is there.

When that really cool, multi-million dollar gaming site launches next week as one of the few successful start-ups this year, and the media is cooing over the the twenty-something gamer guys and artists, can I remind them that I WROTE IT? Me! Old cranky grandma me! The PHP, the JavaScript, the SQL, the project management: Me!

Why is that no one wants to give credit if you aren't the darling of the marketing gurus?

It's impossible to work 12-15 hours a day with a pinched nerve in my typing arm and not sob with pain, so I finally gave it and scheduled surgery on the arm for August 20. They are going to do a standard carpal tunnel nerve release at my wrist and another release midway between the elbow and shoulder where the nerve is entrapped in a bony growth. I hope it works, because I'm about ready to either claw out the nerve or chop off the arm. No fun.
